Our Story
Dad runs a trades business. Mom runs the home. And our four kids — ages 9, 7, 4, and 2 — are the creative directors of Iron Kids Co. They name the products, string the bracelets, paint the rocks, place the beads, and quality-check every single order.
We started this because we wanted a project the whole family could build together — something that teaches our kids what it actually means to make something, ship it, and earn it. Not an allowance for chores; real money, for real work, on real orders that real people paid for.
Who does what
Every order is a family job, and everyone gets paid a little differently:
- Age 9 — The Maker: strings bracelets, paints rocks, and packs every order. $1.00 per order.
- Age 7 — The Namer: names new designs and hand-writes the thank-you note in your package. $0.50 per order.
- Age 4 — Quality Control: looks at the product, nods seriously, approves it for shipment. $0.25 per order.
- Age 2 — Brand Ambassador: primary responsibilities are existing and being cute. Paid in hugs.
Every kid's earnings go straight into their own bank account. That's the whole point.
The honesty pledge
Iron Kids Co. is built on one rule: every product is labeled accurately for who actually made it.
- Handmade by our kids — beaded bracelets, paracord, friendship bracelets, painted rocks, Perler bead art, greeting cards, art prints, ornaments, and our sticker designs (cut by a grown-up on a Cricut).
- Sourced & personalized by us — our silicone daycare name bands and food storage. Not handmade, and we say so.
We'd rather tell you plainly what we make ourselves and what we don't than blur the line to sound more impressive. That honesty is the whole brand.
Where we're based
We're a family in Ontario, Canada, and we ship across Canada and the US. We're just getting started — please allow 5–7 days for production on every order, and thank you for being part of it this early.
